I only have a month left in Israel :(.... :( יש לי רק חודש בישראל

This morning went running with Josh and he kicked my ass. He had me doing intervals, and that made me realize that I am so out of shape. I don't challenge myself enough and that has got to change. In the next month this kid is going to whip my ass into shape just like he does with his army kids.

Having the apartment to yourself, blasting Idan Raychel on a Friday afternoon might be the best feeling in the world! I love living here!!!! B'emet!

~~~~~~~*******************************
Once again, I suck at updating these blogs. The shorter my time here, the lazier I get. I will do my best to update you!
Last Friday was the Refugee Seder. It was put together by many people and endless hours were spent organizing it. It was an event that brought together Israelis and Africans, where different cultures were shown and the Exodus was more meaningful than ever, given the current situation in Africa now. It was really cool and many of us saw the people we work with at our volunteer assignments. There was food, dancing, and singing. It was a great event.
Last weekend I went to Tal El to visit my family and say bye to them. I had an amazing time like always. It is always so great with. Even though they are technically pretty distant relatives, it feels very immediate every time I am around them and for that I am fortunate. Of course, like clockwork, I cried when I had to say good-bye. I am like a child when it comes to that. I physically can't say goodbye to people. Especially when I am leaving. For some reason it is easier to stay and say bye to someone leaving than the other way around! Who knows......
Went to Itay's 2 month birthday party this past weekend. Michal, my 3rd cousin had a baby so they had a really nice gathering outside at a venue at Park Ha Yarkon. It was right out of a movie. People walking around outside, appetizers, deliscious food, outside bar, it might as well could have been a wedding, really nice. I haven't seen my dad's side of the family for a while so it was really great to see everyone! I will see them again at the Pesach seder number 2 on April 19th.
Morgan and I have started teaching English. Once again, I have more than ever respect for teachers. We only do 4 hours a week, it is so mentally exhausting, but so AMAZING! This is a Sudanese shelter. Most of the men are from Darfur and their faces light up when they see us come in. Most of them have nothing to do so this involves them and helps them. Not to mention, this is the second spoken language in Israel, and while Arabic is spoken here, there is a major difference between Palestenian Arabic and the Arabic spoken in Sudan.
I have been applying for more jobs like it's my job. Have an interview with Taglit, for a campus coordinator position. I will interview and at the risk of thinking too far ahead, I wouldn't take the job because I want to stay on the West Coast. But who knows, maybe I can persuade them to do this on the West Coast because the Jewish life is more concentrated on the East Coast anyway. We will see, I am just excited that finally someone answered.
The weather is getting warmer and warmer. The beach is amazing. Today, my roomie and I went on a 12 mile bike ride. We rode to the north, the flowers were blooming, yellow fields of them everywhere. It was such a sight to see. I have been to the area before and each time I want to bring a camera and forget! next time I go I will do it but I know that the pics won't do it justice. It was amazing. The only bad thing was that the nats are out now that it is mad hot so I had some in my hair, my mouth and my skin. Thanks to Matan, I always knew where they were because he is Israeli and just points out everything. Hahaha.  It always feels so rewarding to come home after a nice workout, and not to mention a great tan!
So I have two weeks left here, exactly from today. I am getting more and more upset about leaving each and every day. I know that I am ready to go back but I am just sad that something so special is coming to an end. I am trying to see what else I want to do before I leave. Of course there are some things that I will not get to do this time around, but I have accomplished even more than I have set out here to do, so I am happy really with my time here.
That is it for now.....If I think of other things, you better believe I will include them. The next two weeks are going to be full of Seders, parties, beach, goodbyes, more parties and REPEAT. Yes, all good things must come to an end because if they didn't, we wouldn't appreciate them as much.......
